Boron Nitride

Boron Nitride is an advanced synthetic ceramic material available in powder, liquid, solid, and aerosol spray forms. Its unique properties - from high heat capacity and outstanding thermal conductivity to easy machinability and superior dielectric strength - making Boron Nitride a truly outstanding material

In powder form boron nitride (white powder) enhances performance in potting compounds, refractory sealants and lubricants. These powders are unrivaled in applications that call for chemically inert mixing, high purity, high thermal conductivity and lubricity.

Boron Nitride coatings are entirely inorganic, composed of boron nitride powder and high temperature bond phase. Supplied in a liquid form suitable for brushing, they can be diluted with water to spraying and dipping consistencies and applied to a variety of porous and non-porous materials including graphite, metals, ceramics and organics.

As an aerosol spray, boron nitride is a unique product to be used as very high temperature lubricant, but can also be used as a surface sealant in troughs and runners for liquid aluminium transport. The boron nitride avoids sticking of the aluminium to the refractory surface, boron nitride is a superior non wetting agent.

Boron Nitride ceramic products are soft machinable ceramics, which exhibits very good thermal shock resistance and are not wetted by most molten metals. When combined with other refractory ceramics, performance can be enhanced by increased erosion resistance and improved compatibility to certain alloys.
